Ram Setu non-critic review:
A bunch of hogwash!!!
Cheap animation filled movie which tries to insert some "cool" high-tech stuff into the movie imitating Marvel's Iron-Man and Tony Stark's suit which supposedly can make Akshay Kumar stay in water for hours at end looks like a video game which is controlled by a joystick. 🕹️ Akshay Kumar wears the so-called "exo-suit" and he goes to swim underwater to collect some samples of the Ram Setu bridge while his companions who also goes with him to assist in the following tasks wears just normal swimwear for the underwater diving. Only Akshay gets the suit while the rest wears normal stuff. I guess budget cuts of the sponsorer! 😅 The film also inserts the iconic dialogue of Jurassic Park, "Spared no expense". 🤷🏻🤷🏻♂️ And how did an archaelogist who is played by Akshay Kumar argue in front of the SC when he clearly doesn't have any license from the Bar Council of India to argue in front of a court of law. Also, he enters the courtroom wearing clothes like a hipster. There's a decorum in court which everyone needs to follow, otherwise contempt will be applied.
The story of the movie is also a pile of garbage which can really make you cringe. The acting done by the actors are horrendous. Only Akshay Kumar's acting is somewhat okayish... The film centres around gathering "scientific evidence" which is called as "hard facts" again and again by Akshay Kumar of the existence/non-existence of Ram but at the end he could not even present a single shred of scientific evidence regarding the existence of Ram. Rather, he told in the court that some findings were made by carbon-dating the stone found at Ram Setu but did not present the findings in hard copy. He just said orally. And the court believed the argument too by the archaelogist and self-made wannabe advocate.
My advice to the filmmakers: Watch some Hollywood archaelogical adventurous movies like Indiana Jones. Watch the old ones. They do not have much animation in the movies but they have done a much better job than this movie in the field of storytelling, cinematography and acting. Take some inspiration.
Recommendation: Do not waste your time and watch this movie just in the name of Lord Ram and Ramayana. Because you will really regret it. Watch some good documentary instead.
