Kind of disappointed by this film. It was exciting at first but went downhill after they left the concert. Other people in the theater gave up on it and were laughing by the end of it. First off, Clearly M Night knows nothing about true crime. I’ve watched several documentaries about serial killers and how they were caught. In real life they wouldn’t have used innocent civilians as bait to catch a killer bc this is America where people have rights.
2. Cooper was supposed to be a clever killer who outsmarted everyone. If he was so smart, he would've known they had nothing on him. Being in a concert venue with 10,000 people or more, it was like finding a needle in a haystack. Yet he spent the whole concert trying to get out without being detected. He went in and got checked and they suspected nothing! Would've been the same leaving.
3. Lady Raven completely sucked. Hope Seleka is nothing like her character. She is talented in music but a wannabe Taylor Swift. And she sucks at acting. Lady Raven was nothing but a wannabe saint and a selfish bitch. She willingly used her fans who spent thousands of dollars to see her concert and allowed them to be used as bait to catch a killer. Then there was the scene where she grabbed his phone and locked herself in his bathroom. Instead of doing the normal thing and call the police, she live-streamed herself on social media to find the victim. Good thing Cooper didn't break through the door and get his phone back in seconds like a former fire fighter realistically could. Probably didn’t care about the victim, just used him to make herself look like a hero. Then the scene where she pretended to be Cooper’s mother was very uncomfortable. Not gonna be watching a film with her in it ever again.
4. The best scene was M Night’s cameo. Always entertaining as usual. Being his daughter’s uncle was clever. Seemed shitty that she gave the sob story of describing him as an absent father after he literally directed a whole film to make her famous.
5. Having just had a baby girl myself, Cooper’s daughter embracing him before the police took him away was a tear jerker. Despite finding out who he really was, she didn’t forget he was still her father who loved her. Unconditional love right there.
Moral of Trap, don’t judge a movie by its trailer. Not saying don’t watch it, just don’t expect it to be anything like the trailer.
