most of the way through episode 10 and WOW. a candy-coated meditation on family and loss, leavened with fart jokes and wrapped in a loving ode to the horse girl fantasy. delightful animation, music, and worldbuilding somehow manage to tie it all together--I can't wait to see what comes next!

fantastically heartfelt and laugh out loud funny! this show's action scenes have NO business going as hard as they do--there's a couple of fights that could go toe-to-toe with some of my favorite animes. as if that weren't reason enough to watch, I love the whole cast of characters, the world they're building is deeply weird and fascinating, and the story is shaping up to be seriously epic. <3

excellent. the political intrigue is fascinating, the fantasy immersive, and the social commentary is breathtaking in its directness. could stand for fewer obligatory sex scenes (for real, some of them are so random and forced that it feels contractual, or maybe algorithmic). anyway, can't wait for the next season!
