Excellent acting by Jennifer Aniston!👏👏👏 emotional context is huge; she played the role of wife, lover, soulmate and mom to a T.
(Spoiler alert) these were all scenes in the movie that were such a tear-jerker:
-When Jenny lost her baby
-when Marley comforted Jenny when she came back from the doctor
-When she was exhausted and frustrated with her life as a stay at home mom.
(And this one takes the cake):
-When she said goodbye to Marley just before he was brought to the vet - she hugged the dog and rained kisses on Marley's face, and the look on her face as she patted the trunk of the car. This was when I started bawling like a baby 😭😭😭
I don't have much to say about Owen Wilson's acting though - many a scene I thought he could've done better, and shown more emotions.
Overall- an excellent family movie and a bonus if you're a dog lover. The last 15 minutes of the movie was quite unbearable and heartbreaking. I've never seen a dog movie before that reprises the harsh reality of life (and death) this well!
For me, the movie reminds us that in life, time waits for no man-or dog. We all grow up and grow old and it is memories of good times together that's left and treasured when we are gone. Thats why I can't say it is a 100% feel-good movie.
