So good. I’m an absolute Tolkien fan. I’ve been obsessed with the LoR world for 35 years. This show NAILS IT. They have woven an incredible story. The pace is perfect (actually - they could slow it and give us 10 seasons, not the 5 planned). Character choice is so on point. Sauron’s deception is BANG ON. The ego of the elves. The frailty of man. The greed of the ring-influenced dwarves. The fierceness of Galadriel. And I LOVE that they brought Tom Bombadil (the most enigmatic LoR character) in to it. How anyone can give this a bad rating astounds me. Even more if they are LoR fans. We have finally got our moment. Be happy. They have poured everything into it - the most expensive show ever - embrace it and let go of your own preconceptions. Reading books will always be better than film - appreciate it for what it is. If you complain too much - they won’t finish it. No one- not even you - want that. Rant over.
