If you are looking to watch six episodes of misery , then this is the series for you. While there was some good acting and amazing scenery, as well as the potential for a good story, it fell short for me. Full of broken, revengeful and violent characters, there is absolutely no joy in this series. So many ??. Why wasn't the brother who was killed by dingos wearing the communication device the others were wearing, or at least a mobile phone. It was a bit of a convoluted hotchpotch for me. The ending only added to the disappointment. Shame, I was looking forward to this one.

I watched it religiously when Barry Cassidy was at the helm but not so much with David Spiers. His constant interrupting is such a distraction. I find his initial interview with a politician so difficult to watch that I mute that segment. I do find the reporting of what happens inside Parliament House informative although some of the journalists do seem to be favouring the left. I'm a swinging voter so don't usually lean either way but totally disillusioned with our current Government.

Mixed reaction to one of my all time favourite authors. A good read which gives an insight into global politics: US, China, France, North and South Korea. It covers nuclear threat, internal wars and spying. There's a thread of romance for lighter moments. It's well researched as always and held my attention but it was quite confusing because it had 2 different stories, one covers global politics and the real threat to global stability. The other covers terrorism, warlords as well as drug and human trafficking. The surprising and confusing aspect for me was I was waiting for them to interconnect but it didn't seem to happen. The frightening thing is although it's written as a fictional novel it could easily become history. The end is terrifying. It also left me with no closure for some of the characters.
