Yet another great movie from mani ratnam which is message oriented at first level. But when you start analysing each of the characters,you get know that the characters are symbolizing the elements of nature.the story is simply about students trying changing the fate of the nation and choosing politics as their way.Trademark mani ratnam style simple story turned complex by adding the elements of nature in each of the character.If you start analysing details like colour palette, dressing,background colour,pattern of fights of each character,continuation of each confrontation,music pattern,their immediate reaction to the their problems etc,you get to know the intensity of each character by which it means the intensity of each elements of nature. Mani ratnam as always done a great job adding an abstract feel to the characters.The technical departments especially the music department,cinematography,lighting have done a great job.The casting is really god with Suriya,Madhavan and Siddharth nailing their roles.All the other actors in this movie have done a very good job.It is from these movies thaat we need to learn the about modern age cinema and how strong a medium cinema is.
