Subpar at best. The only way this movie is getting good ratings is either from people who already know the story from the game or they simply like the actors. They try to fit a complex storyline into a short span of time. They’re trying to make you feel some type of connect with the characters so that you can resonate with their emotions but they didn’t take a single minute to build any sort of relationship or connection with them. Either with the audience or the other characters. You’re supposed to feel sorry for Nate especially with lines he keeps getting that would make you believe he has a deeper story with the other characters than what they bothered to show (which is literally zero). When they turn against him or things go south you feel nothing because all thats being said is empty words and implied feelings and backstories. Perhaps if you’re a child who doesn’t understand the complexity of this storyline or you are someone who has played the games enough to already have all of the implied background information, you would enjoy this movie. But for the average viewer this is an empty story with empty feelings that is ultimately NOT worth the watch. Save your time and choose a movie with a similar theme that actually takes it’s time to make you feel something and understand what’s happening.
