This is an important story to watch about how horrible it was to be black living in the South, especially. It took bravery, perseverance and unbelievable fortitude to live this way of life back then! Angela Bassett does a really fine job acting in this movie. And so does young Rosa and her friend who were taught by caring Quakers to be taught and treated well in these Southern schools. It’s 2024, and the world is still too full of hatred and bigotry, anti-semitism and ugliness and divisiveness. It’s sad to write and I’m glad I was born in the North and didn’t experience all of this hatred that serves no purpose! This world needs a lot of help!!

Very well acted by all in a believable well written story. The circumstances that occur are realistic in that it could happen. Definitely worth watching by adults. The title is a perfect fit for the apropos song, sung by Roberta Flack. The whole song including the introduction verse very fitting and setting the tone for the movie.

Worth watching. The story could possibly be somewhat predictable but I enjoyed the story, the stars, and the strong woman outcome by the Barbara Stanwyck character. The acting by all was good and believable.
