Much as I respect Captain Sandy I think she has allowed the a couple of crew members to take control and make her look like a fool. She has the bosun dictating where everyone will sleep regardless of who it will effect, and the chef willing to work only on his terms and could up and leave at a moments notice. So who is really in charge?
