This is a remarkable book: grappling with the writing of 'true' stories - don't believe too quickly. We know very little of the important women in our history because they left the only bland writings that society of the time allowed them. This is an imagining, a re-imagining between those lines. It speaks of the courage to stand up to adversity and finding a way to be true to oneself although society allowed only a very narrow path for a woman. It is about the voices unheard: this is one, the other is that of the traditional owners of the land.
