The plot was intriguing but I didn’t care for the author’s writing. A lot of the sentences were choppy, and the narrative kept shifting from one character to another. The ending was totally foreseeable and unfolded like a Hallmark movie. Also, the book would lapse into detailed descriptions of furnishings or meals that just distracted from the plot.

I didn’t care for this book at all. The plot was ridiculous. I’m a lawyer, and the courtroom scenes were totally unrealistic. Designed to be humerous, they fell flat. Both lawyers made speeches instead of asking questions and made sarcastic asides to the jury which would never be allowed. Much of the action was totally unrealistic. And if there was a point to the main character having cancer and given 12 months to live. I must have missed it.

The first part of the book was allright, although I didn’t like the obvious connect with JonBenet’s case, which has never been solved. And the book’s ending was terrible. Wouldn’t recommend this book.

I didn’t really like this book. The first half had such a lonely feel to it. I skipped about 100 pages and picked up again after the plot twist. Didn’t really care for the rest of the book either, thought it was sad and unrealistic. I did love this author’s book Nineteen Minutes though so I might try some of her other books.

Honestly I hated myself for finishing it. The characters were all unlikeable and the plot was dumb. Sorry, this book just wasn’t for me.
