This movie will ruin everything you know and love from the original Gladiator. Lacked character development and emotional connection with the characters. Rushed storytelling, character development took a back seat. Overemphasis on epic battles and action sequences have left little room for character exploration. Killer monkey's, sharks and rhino's did little for the film. I didn't feel invested in the characters' journeys or relationships...so when a character was killed, it was like eh, whatever. And the one-dimensional villains...the antagonists lacked nuance or motivation, making them less compelling. The victories didn't seem significant.
