Not what I expected. Have read the HG Wells and seen other adaptations. Expected an action sci-fi adventure and there were a few moments that get the heart beating but the bulk of this is rather slow paced with a focus on interpersonal relationships with strong themes about human nature. Very dark and somber. Kind of has a Walking Dead vibe for the bulk of the series- well developed characters walking around avoiding the quadruped dogs rather than undead zombies in this case. If you are expecting thrills and chills and lots of action this won’t be for you but if you want to think a bit it is very well done and great casting, acting and production. Well worth a watch.
