This is the best anime movie of all time, in my opinion. A prequel set in the time of the Ancient War before the pledges, this film focuses on the birth of Disboard and how the world was when violence and chaos still ensued prior to Tet's rule. The characters are so real, the animation so smooth and brilliant and colorful and as beautiful as the anime, and the plot so riveting, mind-bending, and amazingly sculpted that you are just as impressed with the clever schemes devised by Riku and Shuvi as you were with Sora and Shiro in the anime, but with 100x the heartbreaking emotional punches born from a world of war and conflict. Fall in love with a robot more than any in all of fiction, and fall in love with the world of ancient Disboard and learn to fully appreciate all of the effort and the endless sacrifices of Imanity to create a world of peace and games. I highly recommend this film to anyone who has watched the anime, as the anime and the movie are basically a package deal now. Best anime film ever!
