If you did not read about Oppenheimer or see the biography called "The day after Trinity" I could see why the viewer might enjoy the movie. But too much and I mean wayyy too much was focused on the post world war two hearings which of course was a witchunt during the years of McCarthyism and the red scare. This was not where the focus of an absolute genius and probably the only person with the intellect capable of running this project deserved. He would solve technical problems be it metallurgy, ordnance, electrical, etc.that a group would be working on for weeks and solve it in a matter of minutes. But the movie barely showed this. His receiving the presidential medal of freedom was barely shown and his speech as well as President Johnson's was omitted. The dumbest part was the poison apple scene that was never mentioned in the book and no one has ever said a word of Oppenheimer having any sort of behavior remotely like this.Taking liberties like this for dramatic effect further demeans his legacy. .A disservice to an absolute American icon.
