Missing
What a movie! I've never been so frustrated by a movie before, but the trophy definitely goes to missing and it's directors.
Like everything in life there's always good to every bad, so let’s start with the good thing about missing.
Missing has a quit the intriguing plot. The story line keeps you reeled in and determined to find out how the story ends, but that's it! It's mere ability to tickle the curiosity in everyone.
Now for the bad insight. Missing is filmed in a mannerism that is intent to depict one's life through personal items such as computers or phones. Which is fine, however you’d expect that because of the use of personal items telling the that it would feel more personal. It doesn’t ! the quality of the film is so low budget I genuinely believe they used a old Samsung galaxy to film each scene, quite frankly it's giving I might not have a budget but I definitely have a vision. And that's perfectly fine, but it gets mentally draining to follow the storyline of a low budget film with terrible acting. pick a struggle!
June ( the main character) emotion rage was so dead the whole entire film I started question how she managed to get casted.
Other than that throughout the movie you're try to connect or sympathize with the characters but how are we supposed to do that when we are given such little details of realism to do so. I understand that it's meant to capture the lives through personal devices but it only makes it feel more unreal, more let's say unrelatable, and every time they had an opportunity to give us the viewers a level of realism to make it feel more real, they chose to not take it!
Let’s be honest they say you can’t believe everything you see on your phones so this manner of filming failed to portray whatever it was trying too.
This movie had me pressed from the beginning to the end.
Like no ways does this person have cameras everywhere like everywhere. And no way is private information, like street camera recordings just available to anyone, like are they for real? And don't get me started on how she just hey Siri-Ed her phone through a camera that was connected to her pc yeah no, cos I I know a thing about siri my siri won’t even respond to me while we’re in the same room 😂.
Tell me you're selling a product without telling me you're selling a product cough cough “apple”. I felt like I was watching a hour long YouTube advertisement.
I will however, applaud the realism of how the director manages to show us how easy in our modern age it is to get quick access to anything on the internet if we just well try. If anything it’s a sign to be more protective of what you do and put onto the internet.
Thank you
