It is a movie better than average, but in my opinion, not a masterpiece.
The dialogue is very oddly paced. It's like a series of one liners shot one after the other.
Visually impressive, but not very creative. There's a "Cookie cutter formula" to the way it's laid out.
The soundtrack is brilliant. It doesn't really reflect the sound of the 1940's, but it's so well crafted. It's lovely to listen to.
The acting seemed quite good to me, but I don't know much about acting.
The narrative mostly focuses on oppenheimer's personal life. I think a movie purely about science would bore everyone, but the scenes of visualizing were the most compelling parts in my opinion.
It is a great movie, but not an amazing movie. One star off the perfect mark. The problem with giving it 5 stars is that there are better movies, and what do we give those masterpieces? Do we just keep adding stars?
A great movie. A great score.
