Brilliant. For season one, Dallas Jenkins said they started with one of the most important chapters in the Bible, John 3, and Jesus' conversation with Nicodemas, and worked backwards, introducing us, with the guidance of hints from scripture, to fully developed the Biblical characters. In doing so, the conversations, the conversions, the miracles, have truly gone from 2 dimensional writings on a page, to 3 dimensional, and so inspiring. I'm only 5 episodes in, but already have been so inspired:
-Jesus rescuing Mary Magdalene, done in such a way that resulted in her becoming perhaps the most dedicated disciple.
-Jesus spending afternoons teaching and revealing himself to the children...reminding us that we must all have the soft heart and humble faith of a child, and that Jesus is eager to receive us.
-Jesus joining Mary Magdalene and some "outsiders" for Shabbat dinner vividly illustrates how Jesus loves the least of these, seeing so much value in them, and is so patient with us all.
-Jesus helping Peter fill his boat with fish...validating Himself as the Messiah, but also saving a family from ruin.
-Jesus obeying his mother at the wedding, inspiring in His love for his mother, but also a great reminder of powerful divinity AND "normal" humanity...rolled into Jesus of Nazareth.
