Michael Shannon and Shea Wigham always play well together, and have done so since Boardwalk Empire, Shelter, and many other efforts. . The Quarry is sparingly violent, not up close & personal as so many modern films are. The struggles of the characters are intensely involving. A film that forces the observer to think. Dry, but refreshing.

I enjoyed the journey of the granddaughter and grandfather. I didn't want to laugh at some of the old man's stunts, but I did and still felt embarrassed for him. We knew the ending was inevitable, and it was welldone.
