I was looking forward to reading this having read Mr Crawley's previous books and it certainly did not disappoint. In fact I would go so far as to say that this is his best book yet. I finished it in five days despite still working full time during the Covid-19 crisis and found it to be a great diversion, both enthralling in the linking of the lives and stories of some many characters and the descriptions of the three different time periods in Sicily and deeply involving as one's interest in their lives, loves and events progresses and develops through the book. I look forward to the next book!
