I was in high school when I saw it. I became an Anita O'Day and especially a Nina Simone follower for many decades. Terrific music! Great movie!

Lots of LOL, particularly from the four seniors who hang at the bar to escape their wives and who always seem ripe for getting into trouble. Like the three stooges only more vocal and minus the slapstick. The humor isn't paced or timed the way American comedies are. There are no gags as such. Jokes and wisecracks come from the characters themselves, particularly from the gossiping, short tempered seniors. IMO the only problem is that' it's hard to read the subtitles when you're laughing so hard!
