The Acolyte: Disney's Star Wars Disaster
The Acolyte is, without a doubt, the worst thing Disney has produced under the Star Wars banner. The characters lack development and depth, making it impossible to connect with them. When they inevitably die, it’s met with indifference because they never mattered in the first place.
The show’s blatant disregard for Star Wars lore is infuriating. Altering Anakin Skywalker's force-born origin destroys one of the saga’s most significant aspects, alienating long-time fans. Introducing a character from the future whose species only lives 65 years is a glaring continuity error, showcasing the creators’ lack of care for established lore.
Moreover, the series prioritizes the actors' off-screen political views over storytelling, further detracting from any potential it might have had. It’s clear the creators are more interested in pushing an agenda than crafting a captivating Star Wars narrative.
In short, The Acolyte is a disastrous misstep, lacking character development, disrespecting established lore, and prioritizing politics over storytelling. For long-time fans, this series is a betrayal and a testament to how far Star Wars has fallen under Disney. Avoid this travesty at all costs.
