The movie is dark and disturbing and makes a good case for a real life origin story. It forces you accept that The Joker could be anyone. It was a movie I didn't know I would want, yet couldn't take my eyes off of. I cringe at disturbing scenes, yet couldn't stop. Joaquin Phoenix put such an incredible spin on the character. Kudos to Phillips and Phoenix. It's dark because it needed to be. It was disturbing because it needed to be. What an incredible origin story!
