“Live this life as light and empty as the number zero.”
This one was around 350 pages. A novel within a novel. Elif Shafak has beautifully unfolded the spiritualistic journey of the great Rumi & Shams. This book is a mixed tale of spirituality, Sufism, friendship, and above all, the one's sense of belonging to someone and yourself with nothing but pure love. It is romantic fiction that will provoke a hope to fall in love again at the right time. Not just will this book make you a better person but it also gives a wave of peace and calm to your mind and soul. The forty rules mentioned in the book are a guiding manual for living a happy life.
A must-read if you seek spirituality and self-awareness for the inner and outer self. By far this is one of the great reads. I was thoroughly captivated.
I will end this note by saying that one of the greatest pleasures of life is having high expectations from a book and the book living up to it. This book will be closer to your heart once you finish it.
Happy reading :)
