One of my favorite books. Terrible rendition though. What’s so fun and happy about your father almost drowning you? And then laughing it off, because he was trying to “teach you survival”. In this movie everything is “fun and games”. A far cry from the trauma the author that actually wrote the book experienced. Totally sugar coated to make it more “user friendly” for a vanilla spoon-fed family movie. Couldnt get through the first half hour.

Kate Winslet is such an unlikable character in this (crime?)drama. The character is so awful she doesn’t even have enough compassion for the turtle that a four year old is supposedly going to be taking care of.🙄🙄 But she’s the “tough cop with a heart of gold”?? Couldn’t get past the first 20 minutes of this.
