*NO SPOILER REVIEW ON ATTACK ON TITAN* Attack on Titan is nothing short of a masterpiece. As an average anime watcher starting AOT was a perfect way for me to get myself even more into the genre. It's also only 75 episodes so far (final part around this winter) so it isn't gonna take you months to finish. This show is about "The Scouts" a group in the military served to slaughter titans, creatures who have ruled the earth for the past hundred years feasting on human flesh. The main characters Eren Jeager, Armin Arlert and Mikasa Ackerman are set out to defeat the titans and prevent the human race from mass extinction. This show has it all... from amazing fight scenes, great character development, main characters have reason to fight, surprises and plot twists, great soundtrack and a deep and complex storyline displayed in season three. The characters are ten times more likable then most shows because you watch the scout regiment (Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Sasha, Hange, Levi, Connie, Jean, Marco, and more) go through the pain and agony of experiencing a cold blooded battle that takes the lives of so many. The amount of death in the series just makes the show all the more real feeling and less corny. You get to witness boys becoming men, girls become women as a real life battle is confronting them and they are having to put their life on the line for the fate of humanity. Only one negative in this series. If you are someone that is light hearted and watches shows for a happy joyous vibe... this simply won't be your thing. Besides that, this show is a must watch.

*THOUGHT OUT AND NO SPOILER REVIEW* Honestly I would give this a 4/5 if it wasn't for the unnecessary praise on this series. Death Note is about a straight A student Light Yagami who discovers a "Death Note" which falls from the sky from the Shinigami realm. Light's plan becomes to kill criminals and people who do the world injustice. Yagami falls in love with this plan and calls himself "The god of the new world." Meanwhile, he is met by the greatest detective in the world "L" as two masterminds collide and try to get their ways. Now, on to the review. This is a 5/5 story and plot idea but 2/5 execution. The first fifteen episodes was a masterpiece. Interesting details about the death note, the first shinigami was revealed, and everything was headed in the right direction to become an excellent series. Somewhere near the half way mark when a key character dies is when things got mind-numbing and puzzling. The characters lacked depth and background, the person who died was replaced with someone with that same persona. The Shinigami realm was never even explained either. "Who are the Shinigami's? what purpose do they serve? Not to mention the ending, one of the worst endings in anime history as we could've seen more to Light Yagami's plan to take over the world. However, I really liked the idea that a detective and a so called "murderer" both had strong intentions of bringing justice to the world but just both had two different definitions of what "justice" was. All and all, this show (37 episodes) is the definition of a mediocre show. I wouldn't recommend it because there are simply better animes out there.
