If rotten tomatoes gives a movie below average reviews then you have to watch it. As a general rule. I won’t spoil the ending, but the movie does make you think: what would you want to do in a similar circumstance if you weren’t thinking clearly or not caring if you ended up in jail or dead? I imagine critics didn’t like this angle of the movie because it’s pretty twisted and yet all too real if something this terrible happened to you. The movie gets you thinking which is more than I can say about 99% of films these days. And the acting is very good. It includes Gillian Anderson who is awesome and Patrick Bateman with a civil war goatee. Many scenes are also cut in the American Appalachian wilderness…scenes which reinforce the dark and somber nature of the film. Overall, worth a watch

Any time rotten tomatoes says not to watch a movie…do yourself a favor a watch it. This is an excellent movie even if you are a non believer and find modern religion missing the mark. The acting is excellent, the plot is fantastic, and the ending is creepy like the entire movie. The whole thing captivated me, too, which is hard to do in the age of social media. And the message is ultimately a good one: we’re all up against evil, even if we don’t want to be or or don’t realize it
