A worthy version of the stage show. If you don’t know what Cats is about (ie an plot on which to hang the poems of T S Eliot) then you may find yourself puzzled. However if you are familiar with the stage show that dominated 1980s London theatre this is a beautiful adaptation. The effects are stunning and Jennifer Hudson’s rendition of Memories had me in floods of tears.
If you’re only going because it’s a movie full of A-list Hollywood stars, don’t bother. It’ll be lost on you.
