I don’t like to read summaries because they’re often spoilers, but I could have saved myself so much trouble. I thought it was going to be a cheesy romcom, but it’s straight up Christian cult propaganda. Like “tell your parents everything, therapy bad, no kissing or holding hands before marriage, let your dad decide who you date”. It’s so not good. Plot and acting are not very good. Dialogue is stale (just like those damn cookies). It just feels like a film they show at church camp as a cautionary tale. Clint (‘good’ male lead) asks dad before he even talks to Grace. Which is weird af since Grace is like in her 20s. She’s also like… not a good person? Like she never talks to anyone about anything that’s bothering her (other than her parents).
