The orginal movie Kanchana is far better than Laxmii. The plot has been given extra drama and unwanted complications. If the orginal script was adopted it would have faired better in the box office.

The 3/4th of the book is of tension and buildup to a huge climax...which was disappointingly not huge. The author has included lots of history and research stuffs, action and the usual running , clue finding...etc.. but it was not that interesting. The climax was also not that "wow" as expected. A mediocre book I would say!
