Was okay, but not a patch on the original T.V. series, or the spinoff movies. Ray Winstone, who made an appearance in the Telly series, holds the film together, but I can't help feeling that the movie was miscast. Damien Lewis as Frank Haskins just doesn't have the authority that Garfield Morgan portrayed on the small screen. Biggest cringe worthy scene was when Regan and Carter where parading around in their under crackers.

I viewed this on a Recommendation by a friend. A "trendy must watch" series, What a heap of parrot droppings. Clearly the production team are jumping on the bandwagon riding on the back of the equally dreadful film, 'The Favourite. If you want to know how colourful language works well on screen I suggest you watch the Inbetweeners T.V. series and subsequent movies. The latter is still being screened over ten years later, I feel The Great will be long forgotten after a couple of years . If I could rate no stars I would, so 1 star for effort, and a poor one at that.
