Wow this is bad. I read the first two books with my 9yr old and he asked if there were movies too because they would make great movies. So we tried to watch the first movie. I say try because my 9yr old wanted to turn it off just after the quest started and I was all for that. All the characters are changed or missing. No Clarisse, no oracle and everyone has a harsher want to be badass vibe, like they got rid of Clarisse but somehow made everyone her? It is also rushed and full of fake drama One minute Percy finds out his mom is dead and he is a son of Poseidon and the next he is playing capture the flag but that just turns into this odd fight scene between Annabeth and Percy with no one actually capturing the flag. And they are not 12. They are probably around 15/16. So I don't know what that does to the prophecy but it changes the dynamic of the story. We are finishing the book series and hopes this gets remade/rebooted whatever because it is a great story. Read the books or listen to the audio book.
