A Masterpiece! Based on a classical novel of Sharat Chandra of the same name, the story revolves around childhood bffs Shekhar(Saif Ali Khan) and Lolita(Vidya Balan) with some rough patches of Shekhar's father that spoiles their relationship. One of Vidya Balan and Saif Ali Khan’s best movies for sure.Vidya Balan was the show stopper with her subtle acting, looks and grace. Meticulous performance. The plot of the story is so beautiful. It didn't felt for even a single moment that it's of a debutant director (Pradeep Sarkar) with her debutant Lolita (Vidya Balan). The depiction of Kolkata in the film has been phenomenal. The visuals, costumes, actors were so aesthetically appealing. The music present in the movie by Shantanu Moitra is pleasant with soulful lyrics especially 'Piyu bole' in the voice of Sonu & Shreya.
