Harry Potter movies are the most favorite movies of all time for me since my childhood. Once I watched Harry Potter, first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, I was obsessed with it and couldn't stop watching the other episodes. Honestly, my childhood was profoundly influenced by the world of Harry Potter. Role-playing as a cast in Harry Potter movies, debating which Hogwarts house we belonged to, and shouting out magic spells to each other, with my friends, were the best fun and indelible memories of my childhood.
The very first time when I watched Harry Potter, I was super excited to watch it, and indeed every scene in the movie was breathtaking and incredible for me, a child who likes magical world and fantasy things. Among the 8 movies of Harry Potter, of course, the rest 7 movies are great, yet I think the first movie is the best because if it wasn't good enough, no one would watch the rest 7 movies.
In the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001, the director perfectly portrayed the introduction of the magical world from the muggle world, the greatness of Hogwarts, the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From the moment Harry steps onto Platform 9¾ at King's Cross Station, viewers are transported into a world of wonder and enchantment. The film's production design is impeccable, bringing to life the magical landmarks of Rowling's imagination, from the bustling streets of Diagon Alley to the majestic halls of Hogwarts Castle. Every detail, from the moving staircases to the enchanted portraits, adds to the sense of immersion, making audiences feel as they are also experiencing the magic for the first time.
Even though the cast, Daniel Radcliffe as Harry, Rupert Grint as Ron, and Emma Watson as Hermione were so young, they perfectly embodied their iconic roles and their chemistry is palpable, successfully delivering the friendship, loyalty, and courage, between them. Additionally, the film features standout performances from veteran actors such as Richard Harris as the wise and kind-hearted Professor Dumbledore, Maggie Smith as the stern yet fair Professor McGonagall, and Alan Rickman as the enigmatic Professor Snape.
