i know this director is supposed to be the bees-knees these days, but in a nutshell, this film simply isn't any good. mostly because it offers nothing interesting enough to hook you, or enjoyable enough to make you give it a pass for all its many faults. for anyone out there saying it "explores themes..." or some BS, that's just a film snob's way of saying they didn't get it either, but they want you to think they do. the movie is pretty shallow in what it presents. the director seems to be trying to steal wes anderson's gag of overly dry and boring dialogue. the limited and blunt character development so blatantly telegraphs the outcomes of each short there are no surprises or twists. and even though we are seemingly dropped in the middle of a story for each short, there's simply not enough presented to make me care about how or why things are the way they are. all in all a big snore for me. if anyone claimed to have actually enjoyed this film i, for one would not believe them.
