The story has good bones but the flesh is rotten. I think it should have gone through at least a dozen more rounds of editing. I cannot determine if I struggled more with the inconsistent details or with the character dialogue. Ultimately, the editors failed Dennings. All of the books struggles could have avoided had the editors actually edited. On paper it’s perfect. The execution, however, fails to even crack the surface of decent.
