You would think that after all this time, you’d get a new experience with Totk but it feels too much like BOTW. The map is EXACTLY the same with minor changes. The sky is interesting but it’s small enough to be a DLC. The depths are so unoriginal and bare I could probably have designed a better map. The story line is exactly the same lazy botw plot. You wake up do a “great pleateau” tutorial where you get all your abilities then you run around the world with no direction doing shrines and korok seeds (again really? How original). You have to visit all 4 nations again and all that. And you have to look for memories again for lore which is very dull. Overall, slightly better gameplay but exact same game. And they had the audacity to increase the price for this game when it could’ve been a DLC released before 2020

I have never understood why this game is so highly praised. I feel like people like it just because it is a Zelda title. Firstly, the game developers have thrown away so many elements of the franchise that this title is a stand-alone game. While it is a generic RPG, it does not excel at anything compared to other RPGs. There is no relevant story or characters. You are thrown in a massive yet empty world where whatever you do does not have an impact on the game. You just wander in an empty sandbox until you decide to defeat Ganondorf.
