It takes its time establishing the plot and suffers a little for lack of a real peg [the live version featured cameos from previous incarnations of DC shows] to lure in audiences. The writers here are stuck with the mission of just making it a compelling story. A lot of emphasis is placed on the Flash. By the end, the stakes are clear. The mission is not, and the path to victory is plain as the dark side of the moon during a total lunar eclipse.
