Yellowjackets follows two timelines: a successful high school soccer team in the 1990s that is stranded in the wilderness after an airplane tragedy, and the remaining survivors dealing with the undeniable trauma it caused two decades later. The writing is stellar, and it’s one of the only shows I follow on Reddit because there is so much room for speculation with the mysteries of “what REALLY happened out there?” How did they survive for 19 months? They went from high school female star athletes to ritualistic, cutthroat cannibals! Even at its most gruesome, I was hooked through and through. I applaud the directors for showing such strong and meaningful character arcs and addressing the lingering affects of trauma head on, and how everyone responds differently to it. It’s grim and gripping in all the right (and wrong) ways. The 90s nostalgia brings you back in time, and I’m here for all of it. I’m keeping my Showtime subscription in anticipation for season 2. 10/10 recommend.

I’m a true crime nerd, and Escape From Dannemora, has to be the best series I’ve ever watched. From the insanely good acting, to the beautiful shots, and awesome soundtrack- it is worth a watch, or two, or ten. Seriously, check out this series. Ben Stiller’s the director, and he knocked it out of the park. I’m hoping he makes more true crime films!!!! 10/10 recommend.
