1. So biased and rigged: No employee of friend of judges should be able to compete. If I hear Andy and Poh gush and get teary over a copied dish , Australian native ingredients (ANI) one more time I will be ill.
2. The person in question is likely a lovely person, a good cook, driven student - unfortunately not a Masterchef. No creativity. One trick pony, safe dishes. Last time pasta and tears for nonna this time ANI (mainly appetising ants) and tears for our beloved talented judge Jock. No creativity, just a good student and imitation. Andy said it himself- whose mash recipe? Definitely improved but more of a testament to Jocks unselfish mentorship rather than natural skill. Self confidence , great mentor and passion go a long way but they donโt maketh a Masterchef.
3. Why was at least the semifinal not blinded? Absolutely no reason the judges should know whose menu they are judging for this challenge. Every reason they should not - if you want to minimize bias. They may not have commented on the width of the kangaroo carpaccio or Jamieโs dessert texture. But we will never know. The bias is so off putting I donโt want to watch the final. Mostly editors fault and design of challenges. If there is a brief - create your own ice cream flavour- then the brief should be met- that doesnโt translate to - make icecream that already exists.
4. What I have learned this season of Masterchef is that :
- the show is rigged (sorry just off to pantry to get my bottle of pigs blood- next season probably in underbench staple); editors if you canโt control judges bias with at least some blinded and level playing field challenges or eliminating employees of 10 or friends of judges, then less air time in that contestant would be welcome
- John C Novelli should have more say as the only professional chef on the judging panel. He is so humble , can win a fair cook challenge with the other judges with eyes closed and is a real teacher - want to go to his classes!
- Sarah and Callum are the only Masterchefs amongst incredible cooks.
