God, this book is great
(An edit: the online convos were a highlight for me - if your in the younger generation and have the physical book they aren’t at all a problem (I actually thought they worked unusually well))
I really wish I could just talk about how good the writing is (it’s amazing) but with this author you gotta get something out of the way first. (As we can see from the hilariously polarised reviews)
Sure you can definitely tell that the author went through similar online abuse - but the author has a genuine right to criticise this (nobody likes that kind of online behaviour including her opponents in certain matters) I am against Jk’s views on transgender people but since these barely figure in the book at all I see no issue in reading it.
The book might come off a little pointed but it’s pointed at people who deserve criticism- trolls. The important thing is that it doesn’t affect the plot too much and it’s a gripping one.
A slight problem that I had (slight spoiler) is that literally everyone who’s on Twitter is someone related to the case - maybe there should be a few duds in there to make it believable? Another is the ending. Ultimately though it was the best book I’ve read since the last one came out and why oh why can’t they get together!?
Thanks for reading :)
