I love Kate Winslet and would pay to see her read the phone book but this was not a good movie and unfortunately this was not a well told story. It was strangely told through flashbacks with the focus being an interview with her older self. As an adult she spent half the movie drinking and smoking but she was never fully fleshed out as the incredible woman that she was, nor were her accomplishments properly explained or shown in the movie. It was a rather flat dull affair and I was fully aware of the running time. I don’t know how they managed to water down this character and rob her of everything that made her interesting. Don’t recommend.

I was really looking forward to this movie as the trailer was hilarious. Unfortunately the movie never moves past the concept. The movie spends 90% of its time on his regular life and interactions and the plot never develops into anything. The funniest bits are the scenes in the trailer otherwise the movie is pretty dull. It’s really unfortunate that this story was not better developed and told because it could have made a great movie.

Boring and unwatchable. Why they made a movie that has no drama and doesn’t even tell the story of the two people at the center of it is beyond me. We stopped watching an hour in. We were bored to tears.

I can't believe people are saying this is a good show. I could only get to the 6th episode of the 1st season and then had to stop. It was simply unwatchable. There is none of the wit or humor or shocking twists from the original Game of Thrones. It just plods on episode after episode with nothing new to say and no plot AT ALL. It's just endless scenes of conversations between the same people over and over again. GOT created some of the most memorable characters in television history. GOT had the Lannisters, the Starks, Jon Snow, The white walkers, Khal Drago, Khalisi, so many interesting storylines interwoven together. None of the characters in this show stand out. The acting and dialogue is strictly paint by numbers. The plot is boring and simplistic following one family (will she or will she not be queen) and goes in circles episode after episode. Tonight's episode skipped ahead 10 years from a wedding to someone having three kids and I was done. Just bored beyond belief. The writing, plot pacing and characters are terrible. I can't believe that after the bar was set so high following Game of Thrones that they followed it up with this meandering, scholcky mess. Honestly one of the worse shows I've ever seen on HBO while GOT was hands down the best.

So disappointed. This book is captivating and hooks you immediately with its lyrical story telling and sweeping narrative spanning decades. The Netflix adaptation lands flat and stays there. They wasted the entire first episode on what is basically the ending of the story so if you haven’t read the book you have no idea what’s going on. As to the casting - Mark Ruffalo as a Frenchman?? What?? Hugh Laurie? Why did they Americanize it so? But they’ve already wasted so much time it will be impossible to properly tell this story. I’m out after one episode. I was really looking forward to it.

After watching 4 episodes, what is this show even about? The constant flashbacks are meaningless because the plot hasn't even been established. This show looks like it was made by and for middle school kids. It makes no sense. The plot NEVER moves forward. There is just alot of wasted time and pointless scenes. If you want to see a WELL DONE show check out Ozark. The plot was established in the first frame and there was more forward movement in the story in the first episode then I've seen watching this show. Absolutely done. This is trash.

I love Martin Scorsese. Goodfellas is one of my top 5 all time favorite movies. However, this movie was flat from beginning to end and WAY too long. It lacks a dramatic arc and takes to long to tell a story that in the end frankly, wasn't that interesting. I'm surprised we got through it because at the 90 minute mark all we could think about was that we had 2 hours to go. Leo and DeNiro made it watchable. Without them we most likely would have left.

This movie is depressing with a story not worth telling. The tone is totally off...dark one minute...badly comical with laugh track type jokes that aren't funny the next, strange music montages etc. The main character is unsympathetic and annoying. I was bored through the entire movie. I honestly can't figure out how it got made. I closed my eyes and drifted off waiting for it to end. There was a not single scene I found interesting or entertaining. I would have walked out if not for my husband who hates walking out on movies. No wonder its only an hour and a half long. This movie is NOT inspirational, even if the real life character was.

I loved the original movie, but I thought this one was mediocre at best - visually stunning, emotionally empty. None of the cast members or their story lines stood out and the pacing felt plodding. This was a remake that did not need to be made and was largely forgettable. The original, on the other hand was phenomenal.
