I never thought that I was already at the last page of the book. "It's finished?" I said to myself. But, as I reread that final page again, I realized that it did not leave me hanging at all.
Patience. Patience is the virtue I found most prominent in the book. Takako was healing from a heartbreak, so as her uncle, Satoru. The book accurately depicted the actual ways of healing. It depicted healing beautifully. How the author had emphasized every landscape, evey scenery, has brought beauty to the character's healing itself. It is patience in a way that it required a lot of time for the characters to move on from the pain they experienced.
Courage. I somehow relate to Takako. I would rather choose to keep silent than facing confrontations. I fear confrontations, I fear words. That scene where Takako and her uncle confronted Hideaki was the realization point for me that courage means standing up for yourself -- standing up for you feelings, and eventually being able to set free of the painful experiences. Although I still fear confrontations in the real world and it may still be impossible for me confront anyone, but at least this gave me the thought that if things will go to the worst, I would face my fear for the sake of my peace.
I like Takako's character development. Everything became the opposite at the start and at the end of the book. Every change was so subtle yet satisfying. Everything was told gradually and mindfully. I also love how Satoru was at the ending.
The last chapter of the book gave me a heartwarming feeling. It is like a hug to me-- a comforting one. I read this book because I was told this was cozy to read. It did not disappoint.
This book made me feel emphatic, angry, sad, and happy. It is amazing how the writer depicted the characters' emotions that it somehow became yours too.
I would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a warm hug, and to anyone who are book lovers themselves. Plenty of books were featured here that also made me want to read them. It also made me appreciate secondhand books. Imma buy one someday.
Overall, I would give this book a rating of 4/5. One point subtracted because I feel like the ending missed something. But I also think that's what the second book is all about. Sooo imma go anddd confirm it. Sayonara! (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ ☜(゚ヮ゚☜)
