Charlie Day does his best Charlie Chaplin with a large supporting cast. A light adventure which seems to be more like the afore mentioned actors signing on for quirky cameos in support of a contemporary comedy flick. You want to like this film and credit to Day for writing, directing and starring in what could propel him into more cohesive creations, or rather ones with a bit more substance and staying power.

Disjointed scenes and seemingly poor writing for otherwise good actors/actresses. Kristen Wig tries hard to create a transformative character, only to be ruined by an unconvincing CG fill-in as the cat-woman adversary. Campy does not describe it excepting the garish 80’s film effect attempt. Disappointing at best, thankfully it was available streaming so i could scrub through the movie. Apologies to theatre goers having to sit as captive audience. Let’s hope future stories will l be more worthy of the actors.
