A slow-paced Film Noir well worth your patience. There are big payoffs. Terrific casting all round and a tight plot. A haunting performance by Nicole Kidman but Sebastian Stan, the moral centre of the story, lingers in the mind long after the movie ends. This guy deserves more work.

I say to Chris Skipper, Marcella Simon and Diane Weinerman: read the New York Times and Rolling Stones reviews. Those reviewers make much more sense of this interesting movie than any of you convey, especially Mr. Skipper. With all due respect Mr. Skipper (you are entitled to your opinion) you have completely missed the spirit and dark humour of this intriguing movie. Don’t put people off seeing a very fine movie because of your limited perspective. It’s not fair.

It’s a miracle. So creative, imaginative and thought-provocting. I was enthralled.

It’s stunning. I’m still in a state of shock because of the movie’s power to convey horror and compassion in equal measure. An immensely profound artistic achievement. Thank you to all of you who brought this film to life.
