Loses out on all the plot and character development that the series allowed. The plot is shallow, dark for its own sake, and twists and turns like a dying slug. Very disappointing if you love 'Luther'. Unlikely to tempt new viewers to the franchise as it breaks no unexpected ground. I heard Idris Elba interviewed last week saying this gave them the opportunity to explore the character in new exciting and deeper ways. I think that's bordering on the delusional.
