A difficult confusing beginning opens into an intense and fulfilling read. Adolescence, boisterous and uncontrolled yet with strong family ties is shown, the loss of parents and dependence on each other comes over well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book even though it was difficult to get into but well worth the effort.
