This movie is hard to watch but absolutely worth it!
The opening scene was a daunting experience and one I wasn't expecting, but I stuck with it and you should too, because what lies beyond that is an eccentric, captivating, emotional film and a great love letter to the pioneers of cinema (though it may not always seem like it)
I am a lover of cinema and film making, so I'll admit that this movie was likely made with me in mind, and though I adore it, the 3 hour length, dark and sadistic scenes and a non mainstream narrative will make me recommend it to friends, though I certainly won't push them
I felt the use of dark comedy, absurdity and shock mixed with emotion, character development and the changing landscape of Hollywood worked very well. By the final scene of the movie I couldn't help reflect on the entire history of Hollywood, of all the people involved in this great art form that we will never hear of, and then lasting impact they all played
Highly recommended
