This is the first show I've ever written a review for--and it is because it shot far beyond my expectations. I clicked watch on what I thought would be a MidWest comedy on the mundaneness of middle America and these sort of surface stereotypes we come across. It was going to serve as background noise for me (Not my best). But, wow. The pure, raw emotion that these scenes captured of grief, identity crises, queerness, shame, connection, and hope--AMONG SO MANY MORE--just lit something up in me. There is so much to relate to with Joel, and Sam, and Trish, honestly all of the characters. They all have such developed, well-rounded, and three-dimensional stories to them. Amazing writing, incredible acting, and wonderful shots. I also usually just wait to binge seasons for shows, but I cannot help but watch either Sunday nights or Monday mornings! This show actually has me excited for MONDAY MORNINGS. Anyway, I wanted to write this after S3:E7. Such a tender take on character growth--it never has an expiration date.
